Ruyterwacht Preparatory School

Ruyterwacht Preparatory School

Our Story

Our main building and premises was established in 1956. In 1994 all schools had high volume of learners. Everyone was very prim and proper.  Ruyterwacht Preparatory was furrowed next to a Primary School and a part of the playground was bordered to houses.  The WCED decided to give some of the playground from the Primary School to Ruyterwacht Preparatory and the Primary School received a tennis court. During the course of this year, Epping Primary School was changed to De Waveren Primary School and there school colours changed from green to red/maroon. The learner volumes started decreasing and Mrs Goosen retired in June 1984. After this the two Preparatory Schools amalgamated and the town Epping also changed to Ruyterwacht. Mrs Mylne’s preparatory school was named Ruyterwacht Preparatory School and she was determined to keep this name. The two Primary schools also amalgamated and the name De Waveren Primary was kept.
